Mining Museums and Displays

  • Papua New Guinea National Museum and Art Gallery – the main museum located in the capital Port Moresby.
  • Waigani Museum – located in Port Moresby the founding collections were made by First Administrator for British Papua, Sir William MacGregor. Extensive collections of cultural, anthropological, archaeological and natural history objects as well as contemporary art works.
  • J.K. McArthy Museum – named after a renowned patrol officer John Keith McCarthy and initiated by a donation of 64 items from his personal collection. Located in Goroko, the museum now has a thriving collection of more than 6,000 objects displayed in its 6 galleries.
